Western Australia
is known as the Wild Flower State for
the many varieties that carpet the countryside
from July to September. There are three
separate regions of Western Australia;
the Coastal Plains, the Scarplands and
the Great Plateau which covers 90% of
the land. The Capital of this state is
Perth. It claims to have the best climate
in Australia and with its beautiful beaches
and active nightlife, it is one of the
most popular cities.
Western Australia is also home to many
of the country's geological wonders. Wave
rock (featured on the right) is 15 meters
high and 27 million years old. Other interesting
sites to see here include dinosaur tracks
left on the sandstone coast of Gantheaume
Point, Carnarvon's 20 meter blow holes,
the town of Kalgoorlie where the gold
rush began, and Monkey Mia, where you
can hand-feed wild dolphins.
To truly grasp the rich culture
and diverse beauty, each region has to be
experienced. Isn't it about time that
you had a vacation? When you
