Queensland
is Australia's most popular state for tourism
as it is home to many of Australia's top
attractions. Its capital city, Brisbane,
is a gateway to hundreds of miles of golden
beaches that line Queensland's coast, notably
the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
Sky scrapers line the waterfront of the
popular tourist mecca Surfer's Paradise.
Here you may want to go to a few of the
many theme parks such as Wonder World, Sea
World or Warner Bros. Movie World. Further
up the coast is Queensland's tropical north,
home to half of Australia's rainforest.
The city of Cairns is a great jumping-off
point for all the surrounding attractions.
One such destination is the Tjapukai Cultural
Theme Park where you can learn of the native
Aborigine's rich culture through their trance-like
music, dance and art work.
No trip to Australia is complete without
seeing the Great Barrier Reef. The marine
life present in this 1,200 mile stretch
of pristine coral spans every color of the
rainbow. Many luxurious island resorts line
the reef for those wanting a more remote
getaway. Perhaps you may choose to see the
reef in a day with a guided cruise or a
chartered yacht.
Port
Douglas, where the Great Barrier Reef meets
the lush rain forest, is a great spot for
the environmentally conscious traveler.
Many eco tours are featured here as well
as the Port Douglas Rain forest Habitat,
a wildlife sanctuary where you can learn
more about the unique species of the Australian
rain forest. The Far North is known primarily
for its Barrimundi fishing and some of the
world's largest Black Marlin.
To truly grasp the rich culture
and diverse beauty, each region has to be
